Eminem Confirms Slaughterhouse Gig at Hot 97 Summer Jam

Eminem has announced that his group Slaughterhouse will rock this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam Concert. The radio event will take place at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Sunday, June 3. The group — which consists of lyricists Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce da 5’9″ and Joe Ortiz — was signed to Em’s Shady Records imprint last year.

Eminem felt the time was right for Slaughterhouse to bring their lyrical heat to the Summer Jam stage. “I really feel like this group, hip-hop needs this, man, and I think people are going to see that when this album comes out too,” he told Hot 97′s Peter Rosenberg.

Slaughterhouse will join previously-announced artists on the all-star bill including Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Big Sean, J. Cole, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Young Jeezy, DJ Khaled (and friends) and so many more.

Along with Slaughterhouse appearing at Summer Jam, Em also revealed that he’s “toying” with his new album. “Well, right now, I’m actually finishing up everything up on the Slaughterhouse album and kind of getting into my next record a little bit, so that’s basically the couple of things that I’ve been working on,” he said.

As we previously reported, Em postponed filming of his boxing movie ‘Southpaw’ so he could work on his next studio effort. “He’s focusing on his music right now, so while he’s doing that, while he’s in that space, he wanted to put [the film] on hold for the time being,” said Dennis Dennehy, Eminem’s rep.

Slaughterhouse’s debut album ‘Welcome to: Our House’ will hit stores on June 12.
