Rapper E-9, a promising artist from New Brunswick, N.J., was shot and killed Sunday (Dec. 29) at a local barbershop called Nu Trendz.

According to News 12, the 28-year-old rhymer, whose real name is Eric Andrews, was watching a game inside the salon when he got into an argument with two men and he was shot. E-9 was rush to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police have arrested two brothers, Antwan and Zaire Cromedy, Tuesday (Dec. 31) and charged both of them with first-degree murder. They are currently being held at Somerset County (N.J.) Jail on $500,000 bail.

E-9 was part of a rap duo along with longtime friend 6FO (aka George Opoku). The two were scheduled to perform at SOB's in New York next Tuesday (Jan 7).

6FO is devastated by the loss of his dear friend.

"We’ve had done miraculous things together," he said. "And he’s my brother. So anything I was a part of he was a part of too."

"It hurts," he adds. "Somebody from the family portrait is gone."

6FO posted a short musical tribute to E-9 on his Instagram page, along with a message to his late friend. He wrote, “Tears won’t let me finish...But you in a second beloved RIP E9."
