While August's OVO Fest typically turns Toronto into one big Drake party, the 6 has good reason to celebrate Drizzy this weekend as well. The NBA All Star Weekend kicks off in Toronto on Friday (Feb. 12), the first time it is taking place beyond U.S. soil, and Drake will receive a key to the city from Mayor John Tory in commemoration. While Drake's official role with the Toronto Raptors is that of Global Ambassador, the rapper will act as a de facto host of sorts for the weekend, coaching Team Canada in Friday's Celebrity All Star game, hosting a number of private parties and generally serving as a welcoming presence.

According to local news station CP24, the key will be given out at 6:30 p.m. EST, presumably before the Celebrity All Star game, and will be the first handed out by Mayor Tory, who has been in office since October of 2014. Drake will join the Dali Lama, Nelson Mandela, Mike Myers and Celine Dion as those with a key to Toronto.

Tory explained the meaning of the gesture in a video posted to Twitter that features a black and gold graphic similar to OVO designed Raptors jerseys. "Key to the city? Well it’s the highest honor we can give," he says. "So when we give out the key to the city, we want it to be something really special. I believe it should go to individuals who make people across the city feel good about themselves and about their city. It should make us proud of who we are and what we can achieve. I want these moments to inspire us as a city to send a real message; Toronto can do great things."

The Celebrity All Star game kicks off at 7 p.m. EST on ESPN, and features Michael B. Jordan, Anthony Anderson, Nick Cannon and more.
