Drake received the Woodie of the Year honor at the 2014 mtvU Woodies on Thursday evening (March 13) while Beyonce, Chance the Rapper and A$AP Rocky nabbed awards as well.

Although Drake couldn't make it out to the event, the crowd was in for a surprise when Lil Wayne accepted the Woodie on behalf of the 'Trophies' creator.

Chance the Rapper walked away with the Best Video Woodie for 'Everybody's Something,' while A$AP Rocky, along with Skrillex,' received the Best Collaboration Woodie for their track 'Wild For the Night.' And due to the unconventional release of Beyonce's self-titled LP, she was awarded with the first-ever Did It My Way Woodie, an award that gives props to "pioneers who challenge tradition and unleash innovative ideas."

"Thank you so much to mtvU for this Woodie Award for Best Video. It means a lot," Chance the Rapper said as he accepted his award. "Thanks to Austin Vesely for directing it and to all the independent artists out there."

Childish Gambino and Iggy Azalea, who performed her recent collab, 'Fancy,' with Charli XCX, gave stellar performances that night. Wiz Khalifa and Danny Brown also made appearances.

Tune in to MTV on Sunday (March 16) at 8PM to see what else went down at the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards.
