Doughboy Roc, a member of the notorious Detroit rap crew Doughboyz Cashout, was shot and killed on the west side of his hometown today, according to CBS Detroit. He was 29.

Born Rodney Yeargin, he was allegedly sitting in a white Hyundai at Stoepel Street and Westfield Avenue near I-96 and Livernois Avenue when he was shot at around 3:30 p.m. He was hit in his right ear and shoulder and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are currently seeking more information about the shooting and have not yet found the shooter.

Doughboyz Cashout formed in 2006 as an amalgamation of two crews. Payroll Giovanni, HBK and Chaz Bling attended Oak Park High School and made up the Cashoutboyz, while the Doughboyz, who attended Southfield High School, consisted of Roc, Crispy Quis, Clay, Bmo Maine and Doughboy Dre. In 2013, they signed to Jeezy's CTE label, though they're no longer affiliated with the imprint.

Roc had just released his latest mixtape Roc Vs Balboa on Sept. 15. It featured fellow Doughboyz Cashout members Payroll, Big Quis, HBK and Doughboy Dre as well as Band Gang Paid Will.

We send our condolences to friends, family and fans of the Mayor of the Mo.
