Yikes! I know that Solar Eclipse glasses in the Capital Region are pretty hard to come by but if you happen to be in possession of a pair of Siena College's solar eclipse glasses and were planning on using them to view today's eclipse, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those glasses are trash. Seriously throw them in the garbage right now.

According to WNYT, a spokesman for the college has stated that they were contacted by the manufacturer of the glasses and was informed that the glasses won't provide adequate protection after all.

So instead of running the risk of losing your eyesight you should probably just throw those out right now and find another way to watch today's eclipse. Like checking out this list of safe places to watch or this video on how to make your own pinhole camera.

Stay safe out there friends.
