Labor Day in New York City is every West Indian native’s favorite day of the year. Every year, thousands travel down Brooklyn’s Eastern Parkway in the West Indian Day Parade as they celebrate a day full of national pride for their home islands. Nothing but Island sounds pumping through speakers and dancing all the way down the road!

I wanted to make sure I brought a taste of that on air with the Labor Day Edition of the Heat Wave – Reggae/Dancehall, Culture/Roots, Lover’s Rock, Soca, Calypso! I had to bring that heat to commemorate the unofficial end of summer!
