Common Co-Producing Sitcom ’93 Til Infinity’

Common will be co-producing a new sitcom for 20th Century Fox titled 93 Til Infinity about a 90s rapper struggling to find his way in the present day, Deadline reports. The show will be written by Ian Edelman, creator of How to Make It in America, which starred Kid Cudi, and is based on an original idea, the one-time rapper reconnecting with an old friend, equally desperate for something new.

Danielle Sanchez-Witzel will serve as showrunner on a non-exclusive basis as she currently holds the same title for The Carmichael Show. Common has developed quite the film career in recent years, starring in Suicide Squad and Barbershop: The Next Cut earlier this year.

Common had previously served as producer for Framework, the furniture design competition series which he stars in as well. The new sitcom takes its name from the debut Souls of Mischief album by the same name.

The news of the new series comes right as Common rolls out a new album, his Black America Again set to drop on Nov. 4. The album will feature Bilal, Stevie Wonder, BJ the Chicago Kid, John Legend and more. He as well recently leant a verse to "Cranes in the Sky" by Solange. Next year, he is set to star in Coco, directed by the RZA as well as John Wick 2, the sequel to the 2014 action film starring Keanu Reeves.
