Despite her best efforts, Nia Guzman was unable to restrict Chris Brown's custody of Royalty, the daughter the two share, with a judge denying her request to do so in court Tuesday (May 24). Guzman had claimed that Brown's drug use and gang affiliation were putting their daughter in harms way, with Brown denying back in late-January that his smoking habits were to blame for Royalty's asthma.

As TMZ reports, Guzman was requesting supervision for when Brown was with their daughter, and for a judge to reduce the amount of contact the singer has with the 1-year-old. The judge sided with Breezy however, maintaining that the two parents will continue to have joint legal and physical custody. Brown will continue to get 12 days a month with his daughter, the visits continuing to go unmonitored. Though it wasn't up for discussion at Tuesday's hearing, Guzman is also looking to increase the child support she receives from $2,500 a month to nearly $16,000.

Brown's alleged marijuana use got him in a bit of trouble recently, as a Cannes-bound plane allegedly had to make an impromptu stop in Miami due to the reported smoke emanating from the cabin. Brown denied the incident, saying that he knows better than to smoke on planes and that it was the pilot who had drugs on his mind.

Brown is no doubt relieved by the judge's ruling, his affection for Royalty leading him to name his most recent album after her. Read TMZ's original story for further details.
