Union College choses it's 19th school President

On Tuesday February 20, Union College has announced that they have chosen Dr. David R. Harris to become the 19th President in school history. More significantly, the first African American to hold the position over its 223 year history. Dr. Harris has a background in academia holding multiple academic positions at Cornell University, and presently over seeing cross- disciplinary programs and academic programs at Tufts University in Boston.

He also served as deputy assistant secretary of the Department of Health and Human Service in former President Barack Obama’s administration. Dr. Harris’s resume deems him more than qualified for his new opportunity. It’s a new direction for Union college and looking forward to the good things Dr. Harris will accomplish that will help the college and our community.
