Capone-N-Noreaga to Begin Work on New Project
Some partnerships never truly fall apart -- even after a publicized hiatus with no end date in sight. After decades in the rap industry, Queens emcees Capone-N-Noreaga are prepping to start work on on their fifth studio LP, which not even they thought would happen anytime soon.
In 2010, they released their fourth album, the critically-acclaimed 'War Report 2' but a year later, N.O.R.E. took to Twitter to reveal that the duo wouldn't be doing any more recording together for awhile.
"Doesn’t it hurt to watch a boxer still box when he’s heart isn’t in it," he tweeted. "That’s what the group feels like right now.”
According to Hip Hop DX, the two spoke about new music Wednesday morning (March 27) while on Shade 45's Sway In The Morning. Noreaga called into the show and Capone was on the line as a surprise guest.
"I wanna do another [album]. We puttin' pressure on Capone!," N.O.R.E. enthused. "We gonna get in the studio. That's what this means."
Capone responded simply with, "A.S.A.P."
N.O.R.E. admitted that this new turn of events took someone softening up a bit. "I had to tell 'Pone I missed him the other day," he said.
When Sway asked for details behind the initial reasons for the break, Capone replied, "It's probably my fault, but it's probably his fault too. We both stubborn."
"With reconciliation out of the way, we goin' straight full throttle with it," he added.
It may be awhile before hip-hop fans hear a full body of work from the two as CNN, but N.O.R.E. is prepping to drop his 'Student of the Game' solo album on April 16.
