Tis the season, to pat yourself on the back and be proud of your accomplishments!!! Toot your own horn because you believed in yourself and didn't give up. Shout at the top of your lungs, "I did it!!" to the Capital Region!  I am talking to you my dearest College Graduates of the class of 2013! Congratulations! Stand tall and proud.

10 years tomorrow will mark the happiest day of my life,  it seems like only yesterday, a very vivid memory.....walking across the stage at the EGG convention center and being handed my Bachelor's Degree from The College of Saint Rose; spending the day with my parents and my closet friends. It was a perfect, beautiful, and sunny May day so I had to hit the Tulip Fest while embracing my feeling of accomplishment, success, and happiness. And of course, ending the night getting my groove on at a club downtown that probably does not exist anymore.

College life was a very long and winding road for me, 9 years to be exact, which should have been 4, but, through the faith of my parents and the belief I had in myself I finally made it happen. And in between taking semesters off here and there, I worked my ass off and somehow ended up becoming a radio dj.  Funny how that all came together, but that's another story for another time.

My parents always knew I would choose the right path eventually and if it weren't for them letting me learn from my own mistakes, fall on my big old ass and giving me the freedom to be whoever I wanted to be, well, I wouldn't be writing this!

For all y'all who may be going down the same winding road I did with college, don't give up hope.  It doesn't matter how long it takes you or how old you are, all that matters is that you believe in yourself and then you will make it happen.

Congratulations to all of you who will be graduating college this weekend, next weekend, next month, etc! It is one of the best feelings and moments in life you will ever encounter, trust me.  And it is only the beginning!
