“Lyricist” isn’t exactly an accurate term to describe rising Hip Hop star, Trinidad Jame$. The “All Gold Everything” rapper has admitted he’s only been recording rhymes for a couple of years, but the unique style of his songs and wardrobe have helped the rapper experience mainstream success.
There’s a bunch of crap (literally) in Green Island, and officials are looking to flush it down the toilet. A hearing will be held to discuss a movement to limit the Green Island households to 3 pets. The proposal is in response to a number of dog poo complaints.
Even if you don’t like rap, you recognize the Notorious B.I.G. as one of the best who ever did it. The Brooklyn native became an iconic figure in the genre from the jump. It all started when he dropped his debut album, Ready to Die, in 1994. In three short years, he became a superstar.
Detroit might be going bankrupt, but one of the city’s favorite sons is doing just fine. Big Sean is preparing to release his second studio album, Hall of Fame, in a few weeks, and although there’s some instability in his G.O.O.D Music stable, he says everyone who’s ever been a part of the clique is still part of the family.
A$AP Ferg and Earl Sweatshirt have been looking forward to this day. Both emcee’s are members of different Hip Hop cliques and have a respectable underground following. Ferg is following in the footsteps of the leader of the A$AP Mob, A$AP Rocky, while Earl is reppin’ Odd Future, which also includes members Frank Ocean and Tyler, The Creator.
It’s possible that casual Hip Hop fans will always look at Lloyd Banks like Robin to 50 Cent’s Batman. He’s proven to be much more than that, though. The Jamaica, Queens native has released three albums with hit singles off each project. His last album was The Hunger For More 2, which was released in November of 2010.
I’m writing this, literally, about 15 minutes after I told myself I wouldn’t write anything else about Kendrick Lamar today. The exception to this piece is it’s more about the woman in the video than it is about Kendrick.
The internet was going bananas over Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Control” yesterday. The Compton emcee spit a slew of jabs aimed at everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Drake. The powerful rhymes weren’t personal, it was just an upcoming emcee trying to cement his name in the game.
It’s rare in any level of sports for one team to have a coach as long as Bob Ford has been with the University at Albany. The coach’s 43-year run as the team’s fearless leader will end after this season.
Come play in our Celebrity Golf Tournament! It’s happening on Monday, August 19th at the beautiful Colonie Golf & Country Club. I’m extremely excited for this event. I play golf all over the Capital Region but haven’t had the opportunity to play at Colonie because of the required club membership. For the tournament, you don’t need to be a member!
No disrespect to comedy legend Steve Harvey, but ever since he took over as host of Family Feud the show has become extremely juvenile. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, I’m just calling it like it is. They seem to rely on questions that solicit a dirty response these days. Here’s the latest example.
Drake dropped a new record this week called “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” The track features a new sound from Drizzy. The multi-talented artist has sung on hooks and verses in the past, but this record is pretty much a straight forward R&B track.
NBC’s “Community” has an enormous following of loyal fans. One of the most popular characters on the show is Troy Barnes, played by Donald Glover. Glover isn’t a one dimensional entertainer. Tina Fey gave him his start as one of the writers for 30 Rock, so he has that going for him. He also trots the globe as a comedian as well as a rapper under the name Childish Gambino.
K. Michelle joined the drama-filled cast of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta back in 2012. She left the reality show to focus on her music career, signing a deal with Warner Bros. Records. Her upcoming album is titled Rebellious Soul and features a single that’s scorching up the charts, “V.S.O.P.”
Ja Rule was arrested for weapons possession in 2007. After also being convicted of failing to pay federal taxes, he served almost two years in prison. So what’s it like to be a famous face in that type of setting? Did he have a target on his back? Apparently not! Ja actually compared to experience to high school.
If you know anything about style, you know more goes into the perfect outfit than just clothes. You gotta accessorize to mesmerize! I’ve listed some celebrities who know how to add a little extra swag to their red-carpet looks.
Discovery Channel is on day 3 of their annual “Shark Week.” This year’s edition features 11 hours of new shark-related programming. There’s a Shark Week feeding frenzy on Twitter, Facebook and other social media outlets every year in anticipation of the week long event. Even some of your favorite Capital Region celebrities are taking the bait! Actually, in this case…. They ARE the bait!
The Golden Town Buffet Hibachi & Sushi was raided yesterday by law enforcement. The Albany area Asian buffet is under investigation for identity theft after multiple patrons reported suspicious activity on their debit and credit card statements.
Before Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton displayed their bedroom theatrics on film, another Hollywood “it-girl” was the star of her own sex tape... Pamela Anderson, of course! Superstar comedian, Chris Rock, enjoyed the performance so much, he gifted his copy to a young boy. Yes, you read that right, a young boy. The story is more heart-warming than it seems, though.
This is definitely the OMG moment of the day. Search “Red Nose Dance” on YouTube and you’re destined to come across a plethora of dance partners having sex with their clothes on. This right chea??? THIS AIN’T RIGHT! Some dude posted a video of himself doing the dance with his 82-YEAR-OLD GRANDMA!!
Part of the reason why there are so many feuds in the Hip Hop genre is because of each particular artist’s perception of what “Hip Hop” actually is. Everything is relative when it comes to slingin’ rhymes. With that, it’s not surprising to hear one of the game’s OGs chime in on whether or not musicians like Kendrick Lamar and Drake should be considered “Hip Hop.”
According to the DJ Khaled track he’s featured on, we all know Drake isn’t in the market for new friends – Chris Brown included. The two have a storied history of beef stemming from their night club brawl in NYC last year. Drake has gone on record saying things about Breezy like, “He’s a singer, not a rapper.” One fellow emcee seems to think Chris has what it takes to be one of the hottest spitters in the game, though.
If you’ve been smelling that stank a$$ odor in Cohoes, there’s no need to worry according to officials. The putrid stench is attributed to an overheated chemical tank at Norlite Corp, according to Joseph Fahd.
Considering I’ve spent nearly my entire life in Saratoga Springs, horse racing is near and dear to my heart. When it comes to placing bets, I’m “that guy.” I usually get there ridiculously early and set up in a shaded area with my program, “Pink Sheet” and pen. I sit there analyzing each horse’s stats like a mad scientist.
