Over a month after his tragic death, we now know that the cause of Prince's untimely death was an overdose. The tests confirmed that Prince ultimately overdosed on opioids. Opioid addiction is one of the biggest struggles for Americans right now, and accodring to a study done by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, in 2014 alone, there were over ten thousand opioid-related deaths in the United States, and now with the rise in Heroin addiction, things are getting scarier by the minute.

In early April, Prince had to reschedule a concert after it came out that he had influenza. The following morning while flying back home, the artist become unresponsive and had to make an emergency landing. When he got to the hospital, they gave as much help as they could, but he soon opted to go home, even against the doctor's advice.

Prince was 57 when he died in the elevator of his Minnesota mansion, after reportedly struggling with addiction for some time.
