A symbolic target is painted on your back when you take your talents from underground to mainstream. Don’t believe me? Just ask the likes of Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar and, most recently, A$AP Rocky. His debut album, LongLiveA$AP, is a huge success. With success comes criticism, especially from peers. One artist who had less than kind words for Rocky was Odd Future frontman, Tyler the Creator.

Tyler tweeted his opinion of Rocky’s single, “F---in’ Problems,” featuring Drake, Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz. “So funny when someone releases a new song with the same 4 people that we expected to be on it with the same sh—ty trap beat hahaha.” Rocky shrugged it off in an interview with Life + Times, saying “Hell no, I’m not tripping over what Tyler the Creator said. I’m jiggy. He has his opinions and he’s entitled to them, so it’s whatever.”

Rocky’s debut album was number one on the charts upon its release, selling over 139,000 copies. The sales results came as a shock to almost everyone since the project leaked online a month before it was scheduled to hit shelves. Rocky was upset when it happened, telling the magazine:

“My mom thought that the leak would affect the sales and if I’m honest, it did affect sales but how do you still manage to be number one?” Rocky also added, “My mom downloaded the album illegally, by the way.” Gotta love moms!
