50 Cent continues to expand his already massive empire. The rapper is set to launch the first in a series of boxing events in his hometown of Queens, N.Y.

Set at the Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, Queens, Fif's SMS Promotions and DiBella Entertainment (DBE) will host the event, titled Big Apple Boxing, which will feature a number of top up-and-coming boxers. “I aim to deliver the most exciting fights possible. ‘Big Apple Boxing’ on September 16 will bring together extraordinary talent. The action will be intense,” said 50 Cent in an official press release.

Other boxing events thrown by the same promoters have drawn the likes of actresses Rosie Perez and Susan Sarandon and supermodel Adriana Lima.

Tickets go on sale this week here.

Though he's been somewhat quiet on the music front, 50 Cent has actively moved into all areas of entertainment. Earlier this summer, he began work on producing a drama for Starz called 'Power.'
