The 2017 Panorama Music Festival is officially over. The three-day long music extravaganza produced by Goldenvoice—the same company that puts on the Coachella Festival every year—returned to Randall's Island in New York City for its sophomore year. The inaugural festival kicked off in 2016, to much success, and for year two, the full experience was a step in the right direction.

The outdoor space meant there was plenty of room for fans to see their favorite artists perform plus a multitude of activities in between sets such as an open-air club called The Point and an interactive, museum-quality exhibition space with immersive art installations called THE LAB.

One of the standout aspects of the festival was the atmosphere. This year's Panorama Fest separated itself from its much more expansive and establish sibling, Coachella. Rather than trying to duplicate the already wildly successful predecessor, Panorama utilized the area efficiently while also keeping the concertgoers entertained and well fed.

The main draw for the Festival however was the talent. Day one of Panorama saw one of the best lineups of the year. For hip-hop and R&B fans, it was simply heaven. Starting at 2 p.m.. fans got to see 24hrs, Jamila Woods, THEY.Isaiah Rashad, Tyler, The Creator, DJ Shadow, Solange and Frank Ocean, all in one day, with significant amounts of time between each performance. The experience was a music lover's dream.

The only hiccup that happened on day one was Isaiah's set, which had to end early due to the floorboard buckling. It was that insane. The highlights of day one were undoubtedly Tyler, Solange and Ocean's set. Their performances were breathtaking, full of life and replete with positive energy.

Day two wasn't as jam-packed but did feature some of hip-hop's brightest new stars. Lou The Human, a 21-year-old Brooklyn-born, Staten Island-bred rapper, got a major look with a set at this year's festival. Noname performed hits from her fantastic project Telefone, which dropped last year. Finally, Vince Staples once again proved that he's one of the best live hip-hop performers in the game.

Day three was pretty special. Towkio and 6lack did their thing while Desiigner came out during Mura Masa's set to perform "All Around the World." A Tribe Called Quest was the big hip-hop act of the day and they shared some bittersweet news during their set. Q-Tip announced the group's performance at Panorama would be the last for the veteran rap collective.

“This is our last show here in New York. This is it as Tribe,” Q-Tip explained. “We can’t, you know… we gotta honor our brother Phife Dawg. So we wanna thank everybody in New York City for supporting A Tribe Called Quest since 1988 up until now. And we wanna thank all y’all who extended your wishes and empathy and prayers not only to us, but to Phife’s family as well.”

After experiencing 2017 Panorama Music Festival, it's clear that this new three-day odyssey has a very bright future ahead.
